Mark Holcomb helps drive Periphery's huge sound, with the complex rhythms and soaring melodies that made them a force in progressive metal. He worked closely with PRS to build this SE signature model, and it really does stand on its own in the PRS lineup!
It plays as good as it looks. The wide thin maple neck has a satin finish, 24 jumbo frets and a 25.5" scale, topped with a flat 20" radius ebony fretboard and bird inlays. Mark's signature Seymour Duncan Scarlet (neck) and Scourge (bridge) humbuckers have just the right output, so you get aggression with clarity and articulation on chords or solos, on your own or in a full band mix.
A 3-way blade switch and a push/pull tone knob for coil tapping give you even more sounds to work with. The PRS plate-style string-through bridge has individual saddles for spot-on intonation and adds resonance and sustain, and PRS-designed tuners stay in tune without dampening your tone. It's dressed in a quilted maple veneer with a Holcomb Blue Burst finish and black chrome hardware, and it comes with a PRS gig bag. Guitar Interactive called it "super playable, sleek, and has monstrous tone," and we agree!
