The G5422TG brings classic '50s and '60s Gretsch hollow body sound and style to the Electromatic line. It's a no-nonsense, next-step Gretsch with the looks, tone and feel you'd expect from a much pricier guitar!
The laminated maple body has vintage-inspired outlines and refined arches. Inside, Gretsch's new trestle block bracing locks the top and back together. That cuts down on unwanted feedback and gives you a faster attack with more focus, snap and sustain. Two new FT-5E Filter'Tron pickups deliver huge, full-bodied punch and classic chime, with plenty of presence, clarity and note definition.
The new Classic "C" maple neck feels great in the hand and sits under a 12" radius laurel fingerboard. You get a master volume with a treble bleed circuit, a master tone, a volume for each pickup and a three-way toggle, so there's a lot of tone on tap. Oversized bound f-holes, multi-ply body binding, a smaller late-'50s G6120-style bound headstock, vintage-style open-back tuners, a Graph Tech NuBone nut and pearloid Hump Block inlays finish it off. A secured Adjusto-Matic bridge and a Bigsby B60 vibrato handle the business end. This one is in Walnut Stain with a gold pickguard and gold hardware, and it's a looker!
